Luminary Software

Luminary is primarily a publishing services outfit (developmental editing, copyediting, Mac technical support, web development). But we also write the occasional bit of software, mostly for our own use and/or amusement. Those programs are available for download here, and can be used for free, or for a small fee, depending on the program.

iTunes Switcher	iTunes Switcher Apple's iTunes allows you to customize the list of songs you see at any given moment by defining playlists, but only within a single library. iTunes Switcher lets you create multiple libraries and switch between them. It's helpful for managing very large collections, keeping your iPod's library separate from your computer's, keeping your music separate from your audiobooks, etc. View screenshot Unavailable for download. Showtimes Helper	Showtimes Helper This is a Mac OS X graphical helper application for J. Robert Ray's excellent Palm OS program Showtimes, which downloads your local movie showtimes from the web to your Palm device. This helper application does not function without the actual Showtimes script, which can be downloaded separately from http://showtimes.jrray.org/. Once you have downloaded and configured Showtimes, you can activate it using this helper application, eliminating the need to remember any Terminal commands. View screenshot Download
ISBN Calculator	ISBN Calculator Given the first nine digits of an ISBN (International Standard Book Number), this program will calculate the tenth digit automatically. This may be of use to publishers, in particular. View screenshot Download
